Thursday, July 2, 2009     FAST-O #6 Governor Bebb, Okeana, OH
Starts 6:30-7:30 pm. Director: Mike Minium. Fees: $7 for OCIN members and $10 for non-members. $2 discount if you own your own SI card. You may do both courses for a single fee.
2 courses will be offered: Course one for beginners is 2.3 km with 50 m of climb and 11 controls; Course 2 for intermediate/advanced is 2.4 km, 75 m of climb and 16 controls. Run one course or both. Results of both courses will count in the 2009 North American Sprint Series. Course Notes: There are scattered stinging nettles and poison ivy, but you can avoid them. Personally, I'd wear long pants since these courses are a bit "woodsier" than most FAST-O events to date, but you shouldn't find any major irritants unless you are off course. There are dense, healthy stinging nettles in the floodplain along Dry Fork Creek, but there is no reason to go off-trail in this area.
Directions: From I-275, take exit #33. Go north on US 27 about 5 miles to the Ross exit. Turn left on OH 128/126. In about 1 mile at traffic light in Ross, turn right on OH 126. Follow OH 126 west about 10 miles and turn left on Bebb Park Rd. Governor Bebb Locator Map
Metroparks of Butler County Motor Vehicle is required and may be purchased at the event. Daily $5, Annual sticker $7, Annual transferrable hang-tag $10. If you have a FAST-O Season Pass, it does NOT cover the park fee.
