Thanks to all volunteers who helped with this event!  It should be noted that Bill Greenwell initially placed the infamous control 39 on the edge of the marsh, rather than on the knoll in the marsh, and that Mike Minium takes responsibility for placing it where mapped.  Hopefully most people found it a fun challenge, and did not curse the course setters too severely.

This was a beautiful November day – chilly but not too cold, with the sun periodically emerging through mostly cloudy skies.  There had been steady rain the afternoon and night before, so conditions were muddy and very slippery and several orienteers took spills.  Every course visited control 39, described as knoll, but perhaps a better description would have been the “firm ground in marsh” symbol.  There was a lot of frolicking in the mud (intentional or otherwise) getting to and from this control!
